well, this post is a bit late because my creativity is suffering (clearly) and little ten month old finn doesn't like to stay still for too long.
but with or without me being exactly ready, you went ahead and crawled right into your tenth month, finn bear - and it has most certainly been a grand one.
:: we see your wave quite a few times throughout the day and it kills us everytime. you are very deliberate about opening and closing your hand fully. and you seem to know that to wave is to greet someone.
:: you are crazy for animals. especially cats. you just go crazy, shaking and shrieking. luckily both your grandparents have lots of animals for you to look at.
:: mama may have been your first word, but you are making up for lost time by saying "dada" and sometimes "daddy" all day long.
:: oftentimes its as if we can see the little wheels turning in your head. it is clear you are beginning to understand more and more, like "no", "hi", "banana" and our silly little dutch word for nursing :)
:: you detest diaper changes. and you make it quite challenging.
:: bathtime is getting a bit more dangerous as you want to stand up all the time! but you love the water and have been having a lot of fun in your kiddie pool, and with the hose. oh that hose. you are a little obsessed.
:: you love to play peek a boo. and of course we love to play too. you love when you hide and we turn our heads back and forth, "looking" for you, while asking, "finn? where are you?".
:: my favorite part of the day right now is right after your morning bath. we head to your room, get you dressed, and comb your hair and then head to the chair. you know exactly what to expect. i hand you your blanket and you give it a little nuzzle and we sit down. you look for the books and you get very excited when i choose one of your favorites (pat the bunny, goodnight moon, and anything with animals) and then you hunker down to cuddle and read. you even turn the pages for me now. it is such a tender moment in our day.
and here you are, for the first time, looking more like a little boy than a baby.
slow down, little one. no need to grow up so fast. these "ten month" days are just too fun.
I think the street sign was a perfect (and creative) idea! I am so happy you are posting regularly! Love you all! xoxo
