It is here...

Summer's end. Fall's beginning.

What better way to celebrate than with homemade salsa, courtesy of tomatoes from Casa de Awesome, and taco salad...

We headed to the back yard to soak up the sunset - it was a special sunset, as if the clouds and sun knew that this night was a night to celebrate change. Fall may have been hours away...but a little game of big ball seemed like a good way to toast to a good summer.

Our celebration ended with milkshakes and over slurps and milky mustaches, we talked about what a busy and fun-filled summer it had been - a wedding, a honeymoon and a big move. I am tired just talking about it. A good summer indeed...one that I will never forget.

But this girl is always ready for fall...

Leaves outside = leaves inside.

And time for boots and booties...

...corduroy, leather and scarves...

...PUMPKINS...

And warm, cozy comfort food. I am dreaming of all the recipes that we will experiment with in this pot...

Kitty looks ready to pack up and head somewhere tropical-she isn't so sure about the changing of the seasons...

But I am. And the harvest moon was calling to me last night. It whispered: "I am back." And I politely replied: "Hello, old friend. I have been waiting."

Happy Autumnal Equinox, dear readers.

Do tell...what is your favorite part of Fall?

P.S. After spending 45 minutes in the store, trying to decide, I bought both-booties and boots. However, back to school shopping mandates only one new pair of kicks per person-which pair should I choose??? Any thoughts on the matter?

I spy with my little eye...

...the most darling aprons in the whole wide world!

I have had my eye on these two little frocks for some time and now that I have checkerboard black and white flooring in my kitchen...I think one of them is pretty much a "must have".

Now, which one will it be...hmmmm. Any thoughts on the matter?

Floral Fun

I tried this dress on at J.Crew during my bridal season...a.k.a. Need a million to-die-for dresses for all of the bridal events.

And I haven't been able to forget it.

So flirty, floral, comfortable and I love an exposed zipper. But it was a few too many pennies for my taste. However, now it's on sale. Are you reading this Mr. Kelly? ;)

It looks a little "young" (too short for my married, 28 yr old self) on the model, but I remember it being a good length and nothing but fun. Dress it up or dress it down... whatever suits your fancy.

Pump me up.

I love me a pair of new work shoes, especially if they are obtained in accordance with "The shoe code" - otherwise known as the three "c's": cute. comfy. cheap.

Well, I guess I have been known to ignore the "cheap" part on occasion. But only on special occasion. Like my infamous fuchsia pumps - not exactly cheap, but oh-so memorable.

Anyway, I picked these beauties up last week and I have been rocking them out at work with a black pencil skirt and red lips ever since.

They put a little hop in my step and give me a little bit of that retro edge I wish I had more of. Don't they look like they are straight out of the 40's or 50's?

Just call me Marilyn. Marilyn, the brunette that is.
