also known as one, one of my favorite places on earth.
so one day in july, we decided to hit the open road with the tantes to visit this most wonderful spot...
it was hot. and the water was perfect. the water could have even been a bit colder and it still would have been perfect.
there are no toys like sand toys. he could do this all day, i do believe.
oh goodness he is so perfect.
excuse me but i must digress a bit here: while this age can certainly have its challenges (i.e. sharing, throwing things at people's heads, and sharing)...it is so fun and it simply reminds me that we are watching his little personality bloom. he is silly. he knows what he likes. he sometimes has great manners. he is funny. he is smart. he is full of expression. and he is caring...
the other day, i spilled a bit of boiling water on myself and yelped. he ran from the other room to check on me, shouting, "whats the matter, mommy?" "are you ok?!" i assured him i was gonna be just fine. and then he hugged my legs. i mean, c'mon...HEARTMELTER.... and although i have known how special it is to have a son since the day he was born, that moment really sealed the deal for me.
although we missed daddy (who was hard at work-bless his heart), these kind of days do more for me than any amount of spas, malls, pedicures ever could. i was sooooo happy to be there.
and it just wouldn't have been the same without these girls. they play with finn. they are like pack mules. they keep our food cold and our camp tidy and organized (rachel). they blow up rafts and sing and make us laugh, you know, like the ugly laugh (emily). they apply sunscreen and hats.
basically, they are everything a girl could ever want.
after swimming, we walked the camp grounds. it was as heavenly as it appears.
he did ok without a nap all day. but then he just had enough.
and just like hunger, there is no tired, like after swimming tired.
