Camp de Kelly

Apparently seven days in Hawaii wasn't enough for us, so mid-week, before our honeymoon hiatus was over, we headed up to the mountains for a little camping.

Sly Park is a personal favorite and I was so excited to share this place with Mr. Kelly.

It was so great to finally use all of our new camping gear, including these beauties...

Well thank you, don't mind if I do...

We hit the lake for a swim with our rafts. The water was just as I remembered, clear and crisp. Ahhhhh.

The competition can get pretty fierce during our gin rummy tournaments. Too bad I have NO poker face. None whatsoever.

I waited all day for the sun to begin its descent. Because THAT is when the magic slowly creeps over the campgroud...you can feel the excitment quietly brewing. You know what I am talking about: campfires, bbq's, lanterns, citronella candles, dinner and then s'mores. It really doesn't get much better.

Dinnertime!

These feathery little friends are headed home for the night.

I spy a cresent moon.

I also spy a handsome husband.

S'MORE TIME!

Good morning camper...

A morning walk to the lagoon, as I called it.

Take me out to the ballgame...

Monday was date night. Well, more like a triple date night that included the Kelly parentals and some old friends and oh what fun we had, despite the 100 degree weather. Pretty hard not to have fun at a ballgame, no?

These four used to party it up at A's games in the eighties. How cute are they?!

The Nelson's son pitches for Tacoma, the opposing team at tonight's game. I tend to get a little excited at ball games, you know, like jump out of my seat and fist pump for home runs and such. It was a little awkward cheering for the team that was beating the Nelson's son's team, but I had to claim "home team" bragging rights and carry on.

It's not baseball without some draft...

...or some cheap nachos that are outrageously priced. Gotta have 'em.

And here is Dinger in all his dancing glory...would you believe that my dear husband fished the camera out of my black hole of a purse while I was visiting the restroom to snap this photo just because he knew I would like it? It's true. Precious.

I love Raley Field...especially at dusk...

and I love Monday's that end like this one did...

Oh how I love a good wedding...

Saturday we hit the road for Yuba City to celebrate Jimmy and Landra's wedding...

*I hijacked this photo from Facebook, courtesy of Robinson Photography. Too cute not to share... :)

I was so excited to enjoy a wedding as a guest, where I could soak in the details and the scenery and all. that. love. The bride and groom were adorable, the food was Mexican (my favorite), the beer was Dos Esquis (yum), and the cake was as beautiful as it was tasty. One detail I loved: the bride was wearing Saltwater sandals under that beautiful dress. Classic shoes of my youth. Brought me right back.

In short, Jimmy and Landra simpy belong together and we are so happy for them. They are one of those couples who together, truly make something big. Something better.

The wedding was more like a high school reunion for my Mr. Kelly and it was so fun to finally meet all the characters from all those stories I have heard from Ryan. They are all amazing people and I loved watching Ryan re-connect with those who helped him make all those wild and crazy teenage memories.

Leaving the wedding, on our way to the lovely Econolodge of Yuba City, I told Ryan how much I loved seeing him in his old element and he told me that his favorite part was getting the chance to proudly introduce everyone to his "new wife". Swooooon.

Happy. Hawaiian. Honeymoon.

Just Married! Time to party...

So we hopped on a jet plane to Hawaii...and enjoyed the emergency aisle on EVERY flight due to my husband's extremely long longs, which works out quite well for me. I like to say that we fly first class for free. Sweet.

Once in Maui, we did a lot of lounging...

A little hiking in Hana...

Some shopping and walking in Lahaina....

And a lot of eating and drinking. We tried to fully submerse ourselves in the Hawaiian culture by snorkeling every morning, spending the afternoons sampling mai tai's, chi-chi's and fresh fish in large doses. Fantastic. Wake up the next morning and repeat....

We enjoyed a grand total of seven sunsets! Each sunset found us on a new beach and each night it was a unique spectacle: a different angle, different cloud formation and new colors. Thank you Mother Earth....

We even took a boat to Molokini for snorkeling...

...ventured to Wailea for kayaking with rays and sea turtles...

....put a lot of miles on this beauty exploring the island...

...and spent hours gazing at our rings and each other, all the while, finding hard to believe that this kind of happiness is ours to keep....

Our Hawaiian honeymoon was perfect.

And this photo demonstrates how thrilled we were to fly home.
