finn was happy to show off his new camping outfit in preparation for our one and only trip of the summer!
we left before the sun came up. and fueled ourselves with caffeine.
this view never gets old. am i right?
tracey can always be counted on to snuggle a baby in need of a pair of arms.
these two quickly got to work exploring.
baby louie - also known as the happiest camper around.
we hiked to this place, also known as heaven on earth.
finn was ready. armed with sun protection to the max and his trusty floatation device.
the menfolk. on a big rock.
part of the tribe. i had a nice view of the happenings from my shady perch where i hung out with henry.
dreamy.
before dinner, us ladies (and babies) took a walk in the campground to fallen leaf lake, with a bottle of wine. it may have been my favorite hour of the whole weekend.
i walked in waist deep and it was the perfect temperature. chilly, but bearable. something about being in the water...it just feeds my soul.
my baby. my sweet, darling baby. camping was kind of hard for him. he didn't know what to think about being outside all day, but he hung in there. and looked real cute in the meantime.
the prettiest tablecloth. candles. and the tastiest salad to accompany patty's new york steaks. mmmm.
how could we not bring this beer?! the mister was happy.
campfires and smores.
a baby bear cub in the woods!
there were some rough (real rough) moments, but i have already erased them from my memory...something about a certain three old boy LOSING HIS MIND for a couple hours. but we survived and the summer now feels complete.
That place DOES look like heaven! And the baby... I just can't believe how beautiful he is.
